PARKDALE-HIGH PARK — New Democrats in Parkdale-High Park have selected Bhutila Karpoche to be their NDP candidate in the 2022 provincial election. Karpoche is the first person of Tibetan heritage elected to public office in North America.

Biography
Karpoche is fighting for a cap on wait times for children and youth mental health services, as well as for support for Black and maternal mental health.
Karpoche has led the fightback to keep people safe as Ford ripped away support amid the overdose crisis.
Karpoche co-sponsored a comprehensive bill on a plan for climate action and jobs.
Victory: Karpoche worked together with workers and community to Save the Ontario Food Terminal from being closed and moved by Ford, saving hundreds of local jobs.
Passed: Karpoche’s bill to proclaim July Tibetan Heritage Month in Ontario.
Karpoche has been voted Toronto’s Best MPP two years in a row (2019 and 2020) by NOW Magazine Readers and Best Local Politician (2019) by Toronto Star readers.
